Roofing
Complete siding replacement and repair for residential, multifamily, and commercial properties. HBSI serves Treasure Valley homeowners, builders, contractors, property owners, and developers.
Made from Portland cement, sand, water, and cellulose fiber, Hardie siding is fundamentally different from wood or vinyl. It resists moisture damage and holds little appeal for termites, woodpeckers, and other pests. The fiber cement siding is noncombustible; paints and coatings may still char or be damaged by flames.
James Hardie engineers its siding for different climate conditions. The HZ5® products HBSI installs in the Treasure Valley are designed for northern climates with freezing temperatures, seasonal temperature swings, snow, and ice.
How it works
Call or send a request with your address and what you're seeing: a leak, missing shingles, hail damage or just an old roof. Photos help if you have them.
The shingles, flashing, vents, pipe boots and gutters are checked, along with the attic or ceiling where water shows up, to find the cause and not just the stain.
You get a quote that spells out the scope of work and the materials, with options when there's more than one sensible way to fix the roof.
The job is scheduled around the weather and your calendar. When it's done, the site is cleaned up, nails and debris included, and the finished work is walked through with you.

FAQ
It depends on the age of the roof and how widespread the damage is. A few missing shingles, a cracked pipe boot or a leak around a chimney can usually be repaired. Shingles curling, cracking or shedding granules across the whole roof, repeated leaks in different spots, or soft decking usually point to a replacement. An inspection tells you which one you're dealing with.
Most homes are done in one to three days once work starts. Large or steep roofs, several layers to tear off, decking repairs and the weather can add time. You'll know the expected timeline before work begins.
Sometimes, but it's rarely the better choice. A second layer hides the decking, so rot or soft spots go unseen, adds weight to the structure and can shorten the life of the new shingles. Many local codes also allow no more than two layers. A full tear-off lets the decking be checked and repaired before the new roof goes on.
Move belongings out of the way, put a bucket under the drip and keep people away from any ceiling that is sagging with water. Take photos inside and out. Then get in touch with your address and where the water shows up; a temporary cover can often keep water out until the repair is made.
If a storm damaged your roof, have it inspected before you decide. Take photos, write down the date of the storm and check your policy for deadlines on reporting damage. Your insurer sends an adjuster to assess the claim, and knowing what was damaged beforehand helps you follow the process.
We work across Meridian, Boise, Eagle and nearby towns. If you're nearby and not sure whether you're in the area, mention your address in your request or call HBSI.
